The research was carried out by the recruiting company Values Value and the platform with all vacancies in the game development InGame Job.
In the third quarter of 2022, Ukrainian companies published 4,321 jobs (2,513 jobs with office cooperation format, and 1,808 jobs with remote format). It is almost the same data from the second quarter.

Geography of Hiring
For the third quarter of 2022, the number of job ads remained approximately the same compared to the second quarter. Intuitively, it seemed that with each month of the war, the number of jobs with a remote work format would grow, and the number of jobs with an office format of cooperation would decrease. But, according to the data, Ukrainian companies managed to establish the work of offices. However, the remote work format is still prevalent.
Since COVID-19 has been spread in 2020, Kevuru Games shifted to full remote mode. Surely,
we kept our main office in Kyiv, but it was used as a backup option for those our people who
experienced some challenges working from home or to have fun when virus related
limitations were off.
At the beginning of a full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine we were already practicing the
remote mode for almost 2 years which gave us the flexibility to quickly re-group and ensure
business continuity. Our team members from abroad were and continue to be our frontline
in all the challenges we face now. So, for us vacancies in a remote mode are not something
new or unusual.
The Most Hiring Companies in Ukraine
The new problem of this war is electricity blackouts, which significantly affect the work of companies. All this could change the labor market situation during the fourth quarter of 2022. Let’s hear how this problem is handled in Kevuru.
Ludmila Yeropkina, HRD, Kevuru Games
As electricity blackouts has started recently, we begun to experience the challenges as
anybody else in Ukraine now. Now our main concern is definitely Kyiv as majority of our
people in Ukraine are based here. This triggered some re-focus in our short-term plans so
now we are at the final stage of contract signing and opening a second office in Kyiv. The
main goal of opening this extra office is to make sure uninterrupted operations and ongoing
communication with our abroad clients from Ukraine. Shortlisted offices are those with
stable electricity connection and/or electricity generator.
Moreover, we are opening a new office in Warsaw and actively encourage our people to
choose this place for working and living. We do compensate relocation within Ukraine to a
safer location from the energy point of view or abroad and also provide day offs for the days
of travelling. And for sure we equipped our people in Ukraine with uninterrupted power
supplies for their PCs to protect the IT equipment.
The next steps are to diversify our approach to talent supply strategy and target to hire
newcomers not only in Ukraine but from abroad as well. This launches in its turn the bunch
of changes – gradual switch to English as a main company language and becoming a true
international game dev company in a mid-term.
