The research was conducted by the recruitment company Values Value and the platform InGame Job.
After experiencing a decline in the fourth quarter of 2022, the job market within Ukraine’s gaming industry has now stabilized. During the first quarter of 2023, gaming companies in the country published a substantial number of job advertisements, totaling 3,242.
Geography of Hiring
During the first quarter, the city of Kyiv took the lead, accounting for almost half of all the published job vacancies in the gaming industry. Outsourcing companies with overseas clients continue to lead in terms of hiring activity within the country.
The Most In-Demand Jobs
During the first quarter of 2023, there was a notable surge in job opportunities for artists and animators in the gaming industry. Simultaneously, marketing professions made a comeback and reclaimed their position among the top three most sought-after jobs.
The Level of Wanted Specialists
Regrettably, the number of opportunities for junior specialists in the Ukrainian gamedev industry has experienced a further decline. In the first quarter of 2023, only 63 vacancies for junior-level specialists were published, compared to 85 vacancies in the fourth quarter of 2022.
